Investigators say the Romero fire still burning in the Corrales bosque was human-caused.

An investigation into the exact cause is continuing.

The news comes as Governor Susana Martinez prepares to announce new fire restrictions and possible firework bans to prevent more fires.

Crews continue to fight the Romero fire, which was still burning Friday in the Corrales bosque.

The fire began Wednesday afternoon and has burned 359 acres on both sides of the river.  On the east side, firefighters are concentrating their efforts on reinforcing containment lines and keeping hot spots from re-igniting.

On the west side of the river, the fire is 100 percent contained.

No homes were destroyed in the blaze, which sent smoke spiraling over the metro Albuquerque area.

Some roads were closed because of the fire - but NM 313 is now back open and residents who evacuated voluntarily are able to return home now that the smoke has cleared.

Stay with KOB - we will bring you the latest on the fire restrictions to be announced later Friday.
