There are a number of fires still burning in New Mexico.

Two fires in Northern New Mexico forced evacuations Sunday, but those orders have since been lifted.

The Rio Vista Run fire and the West Arroyo Alamo fire broke out Sunday evening in the village of La Puebla near Chimayo. About 10 to 15 homes had been evacuated.

Near Magdalena in Socorro County, the lightning-sparked Sawmill Canyon fire started Saturday. No structures have been damaged, but crews are working to protect a lab connected to New Mexico Tech at the top of Magdalena Ridge.

Meanwhile, the Little Bear fire near Ruidoso is nearing 100 percent containment. Fire crews now say they have a handle on the fire, which burned 43,000 acres and destroyed 242 homes and businesses. Forestry officials say flooding is still a possibility along areas of Bonito Creek.
