A man accused of lunging at his neighbor with two butcher knives faced a judge Saturday.

Albuquerque Police said Eric Martinez had been on the run for more than a month.

A criminal complaint states that back in June, Martinez tried to stab his neighbor with two butcher knives through the crack of a door.

Police said Martinez was angry at the neighbor for supposedly calling Children, Youth and Families Department on him.

Officers reported that Martinez appeared to be drunk at the time adding that he ran from the scene.

He is now in custody and faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
