A new poll shows Albuquerque residents are overwhelmingly in support of re-constructing the Paseo del Norte and I-25 interchange.
In fact, it's so popular more than three quarters of people polled said they are in favor of the project.
The survey released Friday completes the next chapter of the Paseo saga.
Research and Polling Inc., which conducted the poll, found 72 percent of those surveyed supported spending millions to overhaul Paseo del Norte.
The survey also found the regardless of where Albuquerque residents live, they frequently use the interchange.
With this information in hand, proponents to get Paseo re-built, hope it will sway city councilors who previously voiced opposition to the project to change their votes, and get the project built.
The city council is scheduled to take the issue up in September and vote once again.
Seven out of the nine councilors need to vote in favor of the project for it to move forward.
