Democrats prepare for their national convention in Charlotte

President Obama's "Road to Charlotte" stops in battleground Ohio and storm-ravaged Louisiana on this Labor Day holiday.
During a Sunday stop in Colorado he slammed last week's GOP convention.
"There was talk about hard truths, bold choices, but nobody told us what they were," Mr. Obama said.
GOP vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan responded to the president's claim during a campaign stop in Ohio.
"He's he's basically running on - you know - fear and frustration. We're offering a vision," Ryan countered.
This week we get the Democrats' vision. Obama supporters are eager for their turn.
"We didn't like all that we heard during the RNC - but we're definitely motivated now," says delegate Steven Adler.
Still, not everyone is cheering in support.
Republicans are already in Charlotte running a mini-convention, just outside the Democrats' secure zone.
They argue Mr. Obama has a tough sell.
"He's going to have to tell the American people that we're on the right track and that everything's goning to be great," says RNC Chairman Reince Priebus.
"He didn't fulfill the mission, he didn't do what he said he was going to do and therefore he's got to be fired."
Democrats, meanwhile, are defending his record.
"The country has moved forward over the last four years," says deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter. "It might not be as fast as some people would have hoped. The president agrees with that. He knows that we need to do more."
