ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Authorities say an Albuquerque police officer's wife has been arrested for buying handguns for a homicide suspect who used one of the weapons to shoot at police.

The Albuquerque Journal reports that 30-year-old Elizabeth Taylor was arrested last month for allegedly purchasing at least four handguns for 32-year-old Christopher Blattner.

Authorities say Blattner fired shots during a nine-hour SWAT standoff at his Albuquerque home in August. No officers were hit.

The criminal complaint against Taylor is sealed but a police official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to talk about the case, confirmed to The Associated Press that Taylor is accused of straw buying for Blattner.

Taylor, wife of officer David M. Taylor, faces a number of charges including possession of meth and a firearm.

It was unclear if she had an attorney.
