University of New Mexico allergy specialist, Dr. Mark Schuyler confirms: it is fall allergy season.
Chronic sufferer, Janie Hughes knows it all too well.
"You're wiping your nose and your eyes and you can't see part of the time because your eyes are floating, you know, those are embarrassing things," Hughes said.
No need to be embarrassed, the culprit this season is a sneaky one and it's all around us; "Well in general, it's weeds which are pollinating right now ," Dr. Schuyler explained.
Right now, ragweed and grass are the biggest trouble makers.
Dr. Schuyler said over-the-counter-meds such as Claritin or Allegra should do the trick, but if that does not work, he said you should take further action.
"I think you should go to the doctor if the symptoms are bothering you considerably or bothering people around you," Dr. Schuyler said.
The answer then could be anything from nasal sprays to a rigorous round of allergy shots.
Hughes said that is great, now she wants solutions for other things.
"And then you know, there's the other thing - aging," Hughes joked.
Doctors are still working on that one but at least, in the meantime, you have an arsenal of options to help you get through fall allergy season.
