LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) - New Mexico State University's Arrowhead Center has been awarded $1 million in federal funds to help new businesses in southern New Mexico.
The grant comes from the Economic Development Administration. U.S. Sen. Jeff Bingaman, a New Mexico Democrat, says the money will support efforts aimed at building a sustainable entrepreneurial and innovation environment.
The center will provide entrepreneurs with technical assistance from experienced business people as well as better access to investment funds and other services.
Bingaman says the $1 million investment provides a big boost to the Arrowhead Center at a time when entrepreneurs need it most.
