Roswell, New Mexico is now home to a new piece of nightlife.

“I want to put my hands up like I’m in a feelin’ so fresh video, cause I’ve been waiting for this for a long time,” Roswell resident Anthony Castro said.

The new nightclub, Insignia Nightclub, is part of a bigger project, called The Complex, and it's has been under construction for a year.

In its entirety The Complex holds a convenience store and nightclub; a restaurant is on its way. The nightclub itself is split into two portions. One has a traditional hip-hop feel, with flashing lights and dance music; the other plays country music and has Western décor. Each night, the owners plan to have DJs on each side, setting the mood for patrons.

“I don’t think there’s anything like this that’s been done in Roswell,” Christina Garnand, one of the co-owners, said. “It’s a little bit different. We try to do upscale, closer to Vegas style.”

The club employs a dress code, trying to get customers in the right mindset for the night: No shorts, t-shirts, sandals, baggy pants, bandanas, jerseys, cut offs or beanies are allowed and hats must be worn properly.Men should wear a dress shirt, polo or collared shirt, jeans or slacks and dress shoes, boots or cowboy boots. Women should wear a dress shirt or dress tank top, dress, skirt, jeans, slacks or dress shorts. The club is 21 and over.

The club managers have hired security for both inside the club and outside, wanting to make sure everyone has a good time without having to worry about safety or theft.

The club held a soft opening on September 19 for friends and family of the club owners, but officially opens on September 20. It is located at 4709 West 2nd Street.
