Kirtland Air Force Base holds POW ceremony

KIRTLAND AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. (AP) - Kirtland Air Force Base held a prisoner of war and missing in action remembrance ceremony on Friday.


The event was held at the New Mexico Veterans' Memorial on 1100 Louisiana Boulevard SE.
    
According to officials, the ceremony began with the delivery of the POW/MIA flag.
    
"POW/MIA Recognition Day" honors the commitment and sacrifice of prisoners of war and those missing in action throughout the country's history.
    
The day is traditionally observed on the third Friday of September.
