An Albuquerque man accused of causing a crash that killed a 2-year old boy appeared before a judge Friday.

Mariano Salaz Jr., 20, faces several charges, including homicide by vehicle and aggravated DWI.

Investigators say Salaz was drunk when he crashed into two cars and a police cruiser last month.

Toddler Vicente Griego was inside one of those cars. He later died from his injuries.

Salaz is being held on a $250,000 cash or surety bond.
