APD identifies man hit by car Wednesday on Central

Albuquerque police have identified a man who was hit by a car and seriously injured Wednesday near Moon and Central.
Police say Eddie Morgan, 44, was hit at about 9:30 p.m. He is currently listed in critical condition.
Preliminary investigation shows that Morgan was walking across Central when he was struck by a red car driven by Gene Mund, 78, who was traveling east on Central.
It appears that Morgan was not crossing the roadway in a designated pedestrian crosswalk.
The nearest crosswalk was located on Moon, approximately 30 feet away from the location of the crash.
Police say alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
The case will be forwarded to the district attorney for determination of any charges.
