Emergency exercise planned for Friday morning in Santa Fe

City and county emergency responders will hold a training exercise designed to testSanta Fe's response to a human-caused, mass-casualty incident and Christus St. Vincent Medical Center's ability to manage a large influx of patients.
Emergency vehicles and personnel will be present at the hospitals and Capital High School.
The exercise, called "Operation: Silver Bullet," will incorporate response resources from the Santa Fe Police Department and Santa Fe Fire Department.
It's scheduled from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Christus St. Vincent Medical Center off of St. Michael's Drive and the Christus St. Vincent Physicians Medical Center on Rodeo Park Drive.
The exercise, developed jointly by the city of Santa Fe and Santa Fe County Offices of Emergency Management as part of their multi-year planning, training and exercise initiatives, will provide an opportunity to evaluate the city's emergency response capabilities as well as satisfy hospital accreditation exercise requirements, according to a news release.
Although emergency personnel will be active at both exercise locations, no traffic closures or disruptions are expected, and Christus St. Vincent and emergency 911 services will not be impacted.
