Martinez stumps for Romney outside of NM

Governor Susana Martinez is hitting the road to campaign for Mitt Romney, but not in New Mexico. Martinez takes her show on the road to Las Vegas, Nevada for three rallies on Saturday. Then on Monday she'll visit Dallas.
It's all about winning friends, influencing people, and raising money for her fellow Republican and GOP Presidential nominee Mitt Romney.
And what makes Martinez a hot commodity on the campaign trail?
"She has developed this national reputation," said UNM Political Science Professor Tim Krebs. "She's symbolically important as the first Latina Governor in the United States, so I think in Nevada she can help Mitt Romney there. The race is very close."
Martinez will speak at a fund-raiser in Dallas for Hispanic Republican candidates, but so far in New Mexico she hasn't been out stumping for Romney.
"President Obama has a sizeable lead here," Krebs said. "The Latino vote here is highly supportive of President Obama and I don't think there's a whole lot of benefit for her to be stumping hard on behalf of Romney in the state. I think she's more valuable outside the state."
Martinez has also campaigned for Romney in Colorado and Tennessee, and an earlier trip to Texas. The Romney campaign is picking up the tab for her trip to Las Vegas. Texas Republicans will pay for the Dallas trip.
