An Albuquerque movie theater is on heightened alert after receiving a shooting rampage threat similar to the Aurora, Colorado movie theater shooting in July.

Cinemark Century Rio 24 management, near Interstate 25 and Jefferson Street NE, received an email from a person claiming they were targeting the movie theater, and that they would shoot up the building.

A Century Rio employee commented on the threat, saying, "They just said that he had sent the theater an email, saying that he was going to make what happened in Denver look like a picnic so we had better be ready to party."

The FBI investigated the threat and said they do not consider it to be serious, however, the FBI advised local law enforcement to be aware of any suspicious activities at the theaters.
