After a 12 hour meeting, Albuquerque's Environmental Planning Commission voted against a proposed Walmart at Coors and Montano.
People packed the Convention Center Thursday night as opponents argued that the Walmart would threaten the bosque and cause a traffic nightmare.
Supporters talked about the jobs the store would bring and the convenience of having it at that location.
In the end, the commission voted 5-2 against the store.
The decision can be appealed to the Albuquerque City Council.
