More pollutants have been found in wells at Kirtland Air Force Base, but the base does not think it's related to a major fuel spill.

The massive jet fuel spill that began in the 1950s is threatening the Albuquerque water supply.

Friday, the state environmental department announced it found a different type of contaminant in six wells northeast of the base.

The contaminant is called PCE (also known as tetrachloroethylene) and is associated with dry cleaning and metal degreasing.

The department is investigating where the PCE came from and how to fix it, but officials said the drinking water both on and off the base is safe.
