Roswell has been named one of the country's spookiest cities by travel website TripAdvisor.

Roswell was named because of the mysterious crash by an unidentified object in 1947 which is believed to have been a weather surveillance balloon, but since the 1970's, Roswell has been tied to countless rumors and conspiracies allegeding that the unidentified object was an extra-terrestrial spacecraft occupied by aliens.

The website named nine other cities in its list. They are Salem, Massachusetts; Anoka, Minnesota; Sleepy Hollow, New York; Alton, Illinois; Monticello, Florida; Adams, Tennessee; Tombstone, Arizona; Ellicot City, Maryland; and Jefferson, Texas.
