AFD fights multiple overnight house fires

Four structure fires broke out in Albuquerque homes overnight.
One happened at a home on Solano drive near Carlisle and coal.
Fire crews said they found the 88-year-old woman trying to escape the home.
They were able to rescue her and transported her to the hospital. She is expected to be ok.
Fire crews said they believe the fire was caused by combustibles close to a wood burning stove that was being used.
Albuquerque firefighters were quick to put out three other structures fires Sunday morning. One was at the Angel Haven Apartments on Kentucky near Louisiana and Zuni.
Fire crews said two vacant apartments were completely engulfed in flames. No one was injured.
The department is investigating the cause.
Firefighters also responded to a fire at an apartment on Monroe near San Mateo and copper. Fire crews said no one was in the apartment at the time.
They said the fire was caused by a gas floor heater.
A fire also started in the kitchen of a home on Edie near Paradise and Unser.
Fire crews said one person was in the home at the time and the resident was alerted by the smoke detectors and immediately evacuated.
No one was injured.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
