Two people have been arrested for the murder of a 75-year-old man at an apartment complex for seniors in Santa Fe Tuesday.

Police said 30-year-old Jeannie Sandoval is now charged with an open count of murder in the death of man,  who police believe is George Ortiz.

Police have not released any details about Ortiz's death.

One resident at the complex, on Luisa near St. Francis and San Mateo, said someone close to the family told her that Ortiz was beaten and then set on fire.

"Terrible, terrible," apartment complex resident Beatrice Chavez told KOB Eyewitness News Tuesday.

Police will not confirm or deny what neighbors are saying. What is known is that there was a fire inside the apartment where the body was found.

Santa Fe Police Captain Aric Wheeler said Sandoval's boyfriend, 26-year-old Anthony Yepez, is also being charged with an open count of murder.
