CARLSBAD, N.M. (AP) - Investigators with the state Attorney General's office have served a search warrant at the Carlsbad offices of a mental health center as part of a Medicaid fraud investigation.

The Carlsbad Current-Argus reports documents filed in court in support of the warrant request show double billing is at the heart of the probe into the Carlsbad Mental Health Center.

The nonprofit provides mental health services in Eddy County. The warrant was served late Monday with assistance from the county sheriff's department.

Warrant returns filed in court show investigators seized a computer and 10 binders containing Medicaid supervision notes.

The attorney representing Carlsbad Mental Health did not return several phone calls from the Current-Argus seeking comment.
