Volunteers and one staffer from the American Red Cross in New Mexico are headed to the East Coast to help victims of Hurricane Sandy.

The group is sending eight workers to White Plains New York, northern New Jersey and West Virginia to help with hurricane relief.

One staff member and seven volunteers will travel and are expected to help with mass care, feeding, shelter and managing donations.

KOB was there when members of the group flew out of Albuquerque on Friday - stay with us for updates on their travels.
