Attorney General Gary King announced Monday that his office will be looking into what he termed as "a near meltdown of voting procedures in last week's general election in Rio Rancho."

Investigators and attorneys have been assigned to look at all aspects of what happened on election day as well as what was done to address the problems that resulted in some voters waiting in line for up to five hours. The Attorney General's Office also received complaints of voter suppression.

"We are concerned about the possibility of voter suppression in this instance. We are also very concerned about allegations of voter suppresion prior to the election. we are working to find out what happened in Rio Rancho and to make sure it doesn't happen again," King said.
