Santa Fe police are still looking for a man wanted in a case of extreme animal abuse.

Police are asking the district attorney's office to file felony charges against Jacob Smith, the owner of two dogs found dead in his rental home.

Police said Smith left town and abandoned the dogs, leaving them to die.

A court summons has been issued for Smith. If Smith doesn't show up, a warrant will be issued for his arrest.
