Corrections Department puts employee on administrative leave

The New Mexico Corrections Department has placed a central office employee on administrative leave in connection with allegations of theft.

The allegations have been referred to the NMCD's Office of Professional Standards for administrative investigation, as well to as the New Mexico State Police.

The department is not releasing the employee's name, based on the preliminary nature of both the administrative and criminal inquiries.
