Man sentenced for retaliating against tax workers

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - An Albuquerque man has been sentenced to four months in prison for retaliating against federal employees and attempting to interfere with tax laws.
Federal prosecutors say 68-year-old John Williamson was sentenced Thursday. He'll be on supervised release for three years following his prison sentence.
Williamson and his wife were accused in an indictment filed last year of filing fraudulent claims of lien against the property of two Internal Revenue Service employees.
They were accused of retaliating against the employees for performing their official duties.
The Williamsons had claimed the employees owed them almost $1 billion for past property seizures and garnishment of the Williamsons' wages by the IRS.
Williamson was convicted following a trial in August.
His wife, Nancy Williamson, pleaded guilty in May to one count and was sentenced to one year of probation.
