More than three dozen PNM workers who traveled to the East Coast to help out after Hurricane Sandy are headed home Friday.

The 40 workers spent the past three weeks restoring power in several states hit hard by the storm.

First they helped remove trees and repair power lines in Maryland.

Then they moved on to New Jersey.

Thousands of people in the region are still without power.
