Now I think I've seen it all

Now I think I can say I've seen it all!  At today's Lobo football game, a dad and his 4 year old blind daughter asked an Event Staff worker about 30 minutes prior to kickoff if he could take his daughter down a couple steps so he could have her just touch the synthetic grass.  The worker said "No, I can't let you down here."

The very patient dad asked very politely if he could call someone on the radio and ask if they could just step down there for a few moments and let his daughter (with a cane, mind you!) go down just to see how it felt and smelled.  He replied, "No, they're not going to let you down".  The dad didn't push the issue and instead had his daughter reach down next to the railing on the field level and reach down by the bars to touch it and smell it.

Really, security guy?!?!?  The girl is four year's old, the father was kind and the request was not out of the ordinary for someone with a disability.  Look at the big picture!

On a bright side, the cheerleaders/dance team saw this little girl and gave her a poster.  I lent them a sharpie pen to have them sign it for the little girl.

I give credit to the dancers who saw an opportunity to brighten a little girl's day.  As for the Event Staff guy.... you should be ashamed.
