Hundreds of Albuquerqueans seek out Black Friday deals

Stores opened earlier than ever this year for the 15 percent of Americans expected to shop on Black Friday.
Big ticket items discounted for hundreds of dollars less had people camped outside local Best Buy stores for days.
In the hours leading up to the opening at midnight, shoppers were jam-packed in what looked like a never ending line wrapped around the store.
"It's cold," one man complained.
The hundreds of shoppers fantasized about hot deals as they anxiously awaited for the clock to strike midnight.
"I'm here for the 40 inch television, the Toshiba, oh my god, $179 is a killer deal," one man, who had been waiting in line since Wednesday morning, said.
Another shopper said she too was hoping to get a flat screen.
"As big as they come, anything we can get larger than 50 inch," she said.
Another woman said she stopped at Target and Walmart before getting in line outside Best Buy.
"I was over at Walmart, they have TVs over there 40 inch for $198," she said.
Another man quickly chimed in and said, "They're cheaper here... 180 bucks."
"Oh my goodness," the woman replied.
After hours - even days of waiting - it was finally go time at midnight.
The doors opened, people rushed inside, grabbed carts and scanned the aisles for what they came for, and also opened their eyes to gadgets they didn't even know they wanted.
Shayna Ash waited outside for seven hours.
"Made it, didn't think I was going to, I froze for awhile," Ash said.
The waiting paid off for the popular, front-page advertised Toshiba 40 inch TV, regularly priced at $420 but marked down to $180.
"Hell yeah, I got the last one, I was the last person to get here... I've been here since 5 o'clock after it," Ash said, with a smile on her face.
Others too left feeling satisfied.
"I got everything, I got my 40 inch television, great deal, got my Xbox, I'm happy," another man said.
But not all early birds who rushed inside were quite as lucky.
"I wanted a TV," one woman said.
Others shared that same feeling.
"Feel disappointed for waiting in line for three hours and didn't get a TV," another woman said.
But the savings in whatever items people did find, made up for it. One guy said he thinks he saved a couple thousand dollars, at least, on electronics.
If you feel left out that you skipped out on the shopping mayhem, there is always next year.
"Would I do it again, definitely," another shopper said.
