UPDATE: APD says device not a bomb

Albuquerque Police bomb crews responded to Fung Lin Apartments at 844 Chelwood Park Blvd. NE to what appeared to be a car battery with a clock or timing device affixed to it Saturday afternoon, however, crews were able to determine it was a false alarm.
Police officer first responded to the call at approximately 4:15 p.m.
The tenants were evacuated to the area of Wilson Stadium as a precautionary measure.
Crews determined the device did not appear to be an explosive device. It has been safely disposed of by the Bomb Unit.
APD bomb squad has not has not finished clearing the apartment complex for residents to return to their homes.
