Some Ruidoso residents are upset by photos shot and posted online months ago involving city firefighters and using department trucks and equipment.

There were recently some comments posted on an online discussion forum directing criticism toward the department for allowing the photos to be taken.

The photos were taken by an outside modeling agency, but the shoot was pre-approved by the department’s interim chief, Harlan Vincent. When asked about the photos, Vincent responded promptly and provided this statement:

“It is very common for the department to get photo requests from the public. We are always very careful that all photos are respectful and professional. Although I was not at the station when these photos were taken, I was contacted by the modeling agency and gave them permission to conduct the photo shoot. In the future, requests such as this will be more closely monitored.”
