A former probation and parole supervisor, fired for shooting a gun on prison grounds, has given up trying to get his job back.

KOB Eyewitness News 4 told you last year that Larry Flynn claimed he was shooting at rattlesnakes at the state penitentiary.

Flynn lived on the property. Flynn's attorney said he was dropping his appeal because he no longer has a desire to work for the state.

The shooting incident led to the resignation of then-Corrections Secretary Lupe Martinez who was both Flynn's girlfriend and his boss.
