The University of New Mexico men's basketball team is ranked in the top 20 in a pair of national polls.  The unbeaten Lobos are 18th in the latest Associated Press top 25.  UNM was voted 20th by the coaches in the USA Today poll.

"To be there that early in the season is big for us," said head coach Steve Alford.

The players appreciate the national exposure.  "We're keeping a level head this year but we're still coming out in each game like we're a top 25 team," said Hugh Greenwood.  "We're not playing our best ball but to still be nationally ranked is exciting."

The Lobos host Southern California on Wednesday at 8:15pm.
