A public presentation will happen Wednesday night  for the possible Bridge Boulevard Corridor Project.

The Westside Community Center on Isleta will hold a public meeting from 5 to 7:30 p.m. to explain the project and the team behind it.

Researchers started working on the project September 2011.

It involves construction on Bridge between Coors and the Barelas Bridge to ease driver and pedestrian traffic in the area.

Officials for the project said it will improve local businesses and will make housing for viable and affordable in the area.

The Housing and Urban Development and the Department of Transportation have given $500,000.

Bernalillo County has given nearly $400,000 for the project.

The group that began looking into the project last September will present their findings in early 2013.

The final decisions for the project could happen next summer.
