NM probation officer accused of sexual assault

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - A New Mexico probation officer accused of sexually assaulting a woman he was supervising has been arrested.
Federal prosecutors say 35-year-old Gordon Chavez was arrested Tuesday Chavez works as a probation officer for the New Mexico Corrections Department of Probation and Parole.
Prosecutors say commented on the woman's appearance and sexual activity, asked for naked pictures of herself and groped her.
He is accused of violating the woman's civil rights and making false statements to the FBI. There was no listed phone number for Chavez. It's not known whether Chavez has an attorney. Court records weren't available on the case.
