Snow wreaked serious havoc across Eastern and Southeast New Mexico Sunday evening.

Snow hit the Sandia Mountains a little after noon, and it moved eastward throughout the afternoon and evening.

Interstate 40 shut down at Clines Corners for both directions for serveral hours Sunday evening.

Along 1-40, the East Mountains, Edgewood and Moriarty all were hit by the snow, although it was not too severe. But one driver from Moriarty advised other drivers about the weather.

"Be careful and take it slow. It's gonna get colder. I mean it's 19 from what I just saw on the truck coming up here and it's gonna get cold and it's gonna freeze. It's gonna be pretty rough," Tim McCants said.
