There is a plan to replace what once was the Silver Moon Lodge at Central and 10th near Downtown Albuquerque.

The plan calls for a 151-unit apartment complex, holding both studio and one-bedroom units. The developer plans to ask Bernalillo County for an economic development worth $8 million to help build the structure.

The Silver Moon Lodge had a troubled history and was known in the community for drug usage, prostitution, and a home for vagrants.

The developer plans to meet with Bernalillo County Commissioners during their regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday evening to sell its ideas and listen to any concerns from the surrounding neighborhoods.
