LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) - No need to ask "who" did it.

El Paso Electric Company tells the Las Cruces Sun-News that an owl was responsible for a power outage Monday morning that affected southeast Las Cruces to Mesilla Park and La Mesa.

El Paso Electric Co. spokesman Henry Quintana says the owl made contact with two live wires and knocked out power to around 5,100 customers.

Officials say that outage also knocked out power to Tombaugh Elementary School, Arrowhead Park Early College High School and Centennial High School.

The electric company says power was restored after an hour.
