Albuquerque police detectives need the public's help in looking for an armed man who robbed the Walgreens at 11200 Montgomery Blvd NE on Saturday.

Police said the man robbed the store at gunpoint and terrified a store employee. The robbery took place at about 8:45 p.m. Saturday.

The victim told police that the man robbed the store clerk at gunpoint while customers were in line to buy their merchandise.

The suspect presented cash to buy a Pepsi and then demanded cash when the clerk opened the register to complete the transaction.

The suspect also specifically demanded three packs of Pall Mall cigarettes. He then fled on foot, taking the money, the cigarettes and the Pepsi.

Witnesses last saw the man running from the store towards the Eldorado High School.

Detectives have released these still photos from the robbery in hopes of generating tips on this investigation and suspect.

In the photos it appears that the suspect is armed with a large semi-automatic weapon.

The suspect is described as possibly being Native American, wearing a black hooded sweater with a white baseball cap at the time of the crime.

Anyone with information can call Detective Dosal at 924-6000 or 242-COPS.
