UNM men's basketball coach Steve Alford said his team was out of sync on Saturday against South Dakota State.  The Lobos lost to the Jackrabbitts 70-65.  It was UNM's first December home loss since 2004.

Kendall Williams and Chad Adams did not start because they for showing up late to the game.

"I have no idea how that happens," said Alford.  "If you're a believer in Santa Claus, I hope they get some alarm clocks."  It was the second time Williams was benched for being late.

The Lobos have a tough three game stretch starting on Thursday at Cincinnati.  The Lobos then play at St. Louis and come home for a date with UNLV.  Those three opponents have a combined record of 31-4.
