If you see smoke Tuesday in Tijeras, it’s most likely from a prescribed burn.

The U.S. Forest Service says it is lighting the 40-acre burn one mile south of I-40 and the Zuzax exit.

Smoke will be very visible from I-40 and the surrounding communities of Cedar Crest and Tijeras.

The burn is for one day only.

There is snow on the ground and officials tell KOB they expect it will contain the burn area well.
