Man linked to crime through DNA evidence

Albuquerque police have arrested a man in connection to the robbery, kidnapping and raping a 76-year-old woman.

Police arrested Francisco Perez, 27, for the attack that occurred on the Alamosa Elementary School campus Nov. 22, 2012.

The department’s Sex Crimes Unit worked to find the woman's attacker and the department’s Crime Lab used DNA to find the suspect.

New Mexico probation and parole assisted in the apprehension of Perez.
