An Albuquerque man is in the hospital Thursday after a frightening night at his home.

Police say three people entered his home, held a gun to his head, tied him up and robbed him at gunpoint.

The incident occurred around 1 a.m. at a home near 98th and De Vargas.

The suspects punched and kicked the victim and then took his phone, credit card and car. And strangely enough someone called the victim's family from his own phone to tell them their family member was tied up.

Neighbors expressed surprise when they heard what happened to the victim.

"A nice man, he's lived here, he lived there when he was a little boy with his parents and he's lived there as an adult,” neighbor Lanita Tarr said. “He's very quiet"

Police said the suspects stole the man's SUV, phone, and credit card.

They got away in a blue Mitsubishi Endeavor.

Anyone with information on the suspects should call police.
