APS: Hawthorne Elementary student suspended for bringing knife to school

A student at Hawthorne Elementary has been suspended after being a knife to school Friday.
APS officials tell KOB that the unidentified student took the knife to school but did not threaten anyone.
Another student became aware of it and told the principal about it.
The student has been suspended and faces a possible long term suspension as well.
APS says a note will be sent home with parents telling them about the incident.
