KOB Eyewitness News 4 has learned how much it's going to cost to rename part of a community center after late boxer Johnny Tapia.

The city council approved naming the gym at the Wells Park Community Center after Tapia.

We took a look at the agenda for Wednesday's city internal operations committee meeting.

It includes a request for $7,500 for a plaque and a sign.

Councilor Ken Sanchez originally proposed naming the entire community center after Tapia.

The plan was scaled back because of backlash over Tapia's drug history.
