Griego ran halfway house on home property

Greg Griego ran a halfway house out of his property, KOB Eyewitness News 4 learned Monday night.
While Griego worked at the Metropolitan Detention Center in the “God Pod,” an area for inmates to immerse themselves in religion, Griego recruited newly-released inmates to live on his property.
One person we spoke with told KOB that life inside the halfway house was inhumane. According to “Tiffany,” the woman who interviewed with KOB, the home was in a barn with no heat. She also claimed Griego would turn off the electricity on the former inmates and was controlling and at times violent.
"To me, he was just a dictator. Everything had to be his way," said Tiffany.
KOB also learned Monday Griego had a night job, which is why he didn’t get home until 5:00 a.m. Sunday morning. Griego was working at the Westside homeless shelter as a supervisor and a minister. While a KOB crew was there, they met David Stafford who told us he also was a guest in Griego’s halfway house about a year ago.
"He always talked to me, helped me get my clothing, helped me get a job,” Stafford said. “He just helped me get into the right track of life."
Stafford told a different story about Griego. He called him a mentor and the person who introduced him to God. Some of the people Greg Griego knew said he had two faces and by Tiffany and Stafford’s accounts, there may be some truth in that.
