Genaro Sandoval has been found guilty in the rape of an 11-year-old boy in Albuquerque.

Sandoval was found guilty of criminal sexual penetration of a child under 13, kidnapping, sexual exploitation of a child and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Sandoval was found not guilty in two charges of bribery of a witness.

Jury deliberations lasted just a few hours in the case. Prosecutors claimed the 39-year-old Sandoval was linked to the 2003 rape through DNA samples.

There are a total of five cases against Sandoval involving the rape or molestation of boys, but this case was a separate trial because of the DNA evidence.

Sentencing for Sandoval will be on April 12.

KOB Eyewitness News 4 will have more on this story on tonight’s broadcasts starting at 5:00.
