Woman sought in Las Cruces bank robbery

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) - Authorities in Las Cruces are looking for an older woman who robbed a bank in a grocery store by handing a demand note to a teller.

The suspect is described as a heavyset and dark-haired Hispanic woman believed to be in her 70s and about 5 feet tall. According to the FBI, she wore gold-colored material that partially covered her face.

She wore reading glasses, a red T-shirt a gray or bluish jacket and dark pants.

The amount of money she received and put in a bag before leaving the First Convenience Bank in a Pro's Ranch Market Thursday wasn't disclosed.
