ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - More than 2,000 people gathered Friday at one of Albuquerque's largest churches for a memorial service in honor of the New Mexico family of five who were gunned down in their home last weekend.

The crowd shared tears and laughs as they remembered former pastor Greg Griego, his wife Sarah and their three young children. The crowd also prayed for the couple's 15-year-old son, Nehemiah Griego, who has been charged with the killings and remains in custody.

Dozens of fellow chaplains and members of the Albuquerque Fire Department lined the procession as bagpipes played and the family's urns were carried into the church before the service.

One of Greg Griego's adult daughters, Annette Griego, told those at the service that her father was a man whose heart was after God.

She says she and her family stand with the teen and will not give up on him. She says the family believes that "God will take this tragedy and use it for something good."
