Search warrants obtained by KOB Eyewitness News 4 lay out the key pieces of evidence that will be used in the Griego murder case.
The Calvary church parking lot is where it all came to an end for Nehemiah Griego, 15, but only marked the beginning for gathering key elements in the investigation.
According to the search warrants, the church parking lot is where Griego drover his father's van. Inside the vehicle, in plain view, detectives found three .22 caliber magazines with ammo, along with an AR-15 rifle and a .22 caliber rifle, the very weapons Griego said he used to murder his parents and three siblings.
In a separate search warrant, they also took Griego's iPod and his 12-year-old girlfriend's cell phone.
The search warrant highlighted, using his iPod, "he had taken a picture of his deceased mother and sent it to his girlfriend." The 12-year-old then verified to detectives she did indeed receive it.
Inside the home along Long Lane, where investigators found Griego's family members, each with gunshot wounds to the head, they discovered rooms littered with evidence.
In the master bedroom, where Griego's mother and 9-year-old brother were found, key items seized included two shotguns, two empty .22 caliber ammo boxes and 14 boxes of 12 gauge ammunition.
Casings and projectiles were spread throughout the hallways and other rooms of the house, the place the Griego family called "home" almost a week ago.
